1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device to remember information about you - for example, to keep you signed in. “Similar technologies” include things like local storage that work in much the same way.

2. How We Use Cookies

We keep our use of cookies to a minimum. We use essential cookies only - the ones needed for the site to work. We do not use advertising cookies or sell your data.

• Authentication: When you sign in, our identity provider (Clerk) sets cookies to keep your session active and secure. Without these you cannot stay logged in.
• Domain hint (oc_domain): After a free score check, we set a short-lived cookie (about 2 hours) that remembers the domain you checked so it can pre-fill your onboarding. It expires automatically.
• Payments: During checkout, our payment processor (Stripe) may set cookies needed to process your payment securely and prevent fraud.

3. Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use our site. Vercel Analytics is privacy-friendly and does not use cookies or collect personally identifiable information.

4. Third-Party Cookies

The essential cookies described above are set by trusted service providers (Clerk and Stripe) that operate parts of our service. Their use of cookies is governed by their own privacy and cookie policies. We do not allow third parties to use cookies on our site for advertising.

5. Managing Cookies

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and set your browser to warn you before accepting them. Note that blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in or using core parts of Outcited. Because we do not use advertising or tracking cookies, there is no separate consent banner to manage.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as our service evolves - for example, if we add new features that rely on cookies. We will post the updated version here with a new “Last updated” date.
